I love helping others learn how to take care of their skin and use makeup. Even the busiest of moms or corporate rock stars can and should find the time to take care of themselves! I’m here to give you some tips on how to do that.
Sugar Cookies are the kinda treat you can make for any holiday. They’re fun for kids and adults alike to decorate and everyone loves to eat them. I really wanted to make some last Christmas and I wanted a really great recipe that held its shape, so we could use Christmas cookie cutters. It also needed to taste good. This one checks off everything on the list!
My husband and I recently went on a one day trip to Seattle, Washington. Neither of us had ever been there or even knew much about the city aside from the fact that the Sea Hawks NFL team are from there. You may be wondering why we went if we didn’t even know anything about the city, well, sit back and I’ll tell you.
The treat we all grew up with turned even better, if that’s even possible. Muddy Buddies have always been a favorite treat of mine for snacking. I’d take them for movie nights, game nights, road trips, etc. They are seriously addicting. Throw in Brownie Batter to the already perfect Muddy Buddies, and you get heaven in every bite.
Rustic wood is all the rage right now, but it’s also crazy expensive. When my husband and I were building our home we wanted a shelf made from rustic wood. Mind you, this was a very small shelf, 3 feet wide 5 inches deep. The quotes were outrages for how much it would cost. We went a different route with the shelf in the end, but I was so sad about it I started to research options for future projects.
My mom, bless her, had ten children. Can you imagine trying to get Thanksgiving dinner ready for 10 kids while they are all running around wild? Well, she was also the crafting queen and came up with this genius idea of Turkey Place Cards that kids can make themselves! This act of brilliance kept the kiddos busy on Thanksgiving morning while she cooked like crazy for a tasty Thanksgiving dinner.
Getting ready for family pictures? You have the outfits, you know how everyone will be doing their hair, you even have the location and photographer picked, now you just need the makeup tips! It’s your lucky day, because I know the tips and tricks and I’m here to share them with you!
Halloween is my kiddos top favorite holiday, aside from Christmas. All that candy makes them excited as can be. I have a crazy sweet tooth, so having all that Halloween candy around the house is rough. That’s why, as soon as Halloween is over, we always grab our leftover candy from our bowls and the kids candy bags, and make these amazing cookies!
Every Thanksgiving there was sure to be a cheese board that all the adults in the house crowded around. I’d usually give it a once over, find the chocolate, and only eat that. Everything else either looked or smelled too strange. I’ve since realized how bad I was missing out all those years on the amazingness of cheese boards!
Don’t you hate when you look in your closet, full of clothes, and can’t find a single thing to wear? I hate that too. It was so cute at the store when I bought it, I had all these ideas of what I would pair it with, and now I’m at home and I can’t make it work with anything. What a waste of my already limited clothing funds.
Grid walls are so pretty! They look clean, take up a good amount of wall space without costing too much, and are easy to switch up, just change out the pictures every few months. I recently put a grid wall up in my home and I’m obsessed with it!
Halloween makeup is one of my favorite things about the holiday. It is fun to put on, fun to take pictures of, and fun to show off. I used to shy away from Halloween makeup because I thought it would be too hard to do. Once I got brave and started doing looks, I couldn’t stop. It was so easy and so much fun!
Illuminator, the makeup product that is so overlooked! I hear way too often from my clients that they don’t need illuminator because you can’t see it anyway. This kills me, seriously it does! Illuminator is what gives your face the perfect dewy glow! Plus you can put it in so many different spots to add an extra little sparkle.
If I could have any superpower ever, I would choose the ability to read incredibly fast. The more we grow ourselves the more we will grow our businesses. How do we grow ourselves and our businesses? We have to become experts in our field, we need to attend conferences and training’s, and we should read every book we can get our hands on.
Bacteria grow in moist warm places. Makeup is often moist and bathrooms where we keep our makeup are often warm. Makeup left on brushes and beauty blenders is a breeding ground for bacteria. You can’t see it, but every time you do your makeup you wipe that bacteria across your skin. Can we say ew?! That bacteria can be a main cause of breakout on your face.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to notice that my youthful skin doesn’t look quite so youthful anymore. It’s rather depressing. My dark under eye circles that came after I started having kids are so bad I could pass as a raccoon.
Have you ever noticed blemishes tend to cluster in one spot on the face? They all seem to pop up all at once across the forehead or all over the chin. You go from clear glowing skin to red painful bumps overnight. Have you ever wondered why?
Growing up the only place my family ever went on vacation was road trips between our home in California and my grandmas home in Utah. Even though I haven’t been many places I feel like I’ve traveled the world thanks to books.
I have to admit something that sounds really hippy, but that has totally changed my life: I’ve started practicing minimalism. I think when most people hear “minimalism”, they associate it with having “less” or with empty rooms and white walls.
I love throwing parties! I look at each new holiday or season as another opportunity to host a get-together with all my friends. I thoroughly enjoy every step from the planning and preparation to the actual execution of the party. And of course, I really like getting to eat up all the leftover desserts.
CAN’T FIND SOMETHING?
I live in Northern Utah with my husband and two boys. As a full time mom, blogger, and network marketing professional I don’t have all the time in the world to spend on myself. That’s why I’ve found ways to simplify my routines to get the most out of every day.
I believe that beauty is simple to find and achieve in life. I’m on a mission to help other busy moms and women realize that too.
